A while back I looked at our calendar and didn't recognize our own life in it. We were busy, but we weren't together. So we started saying no to good things to make room for the best ones.
It's not a magazine version of slow living. We still have laundry mountains and loud afternoons. But we made a few quiet choices:
Time to notice things. Kids who are a little less rushed and a little more themselves. A home that feels like a soft place to land instead of a pit stop.
Slow isn't a destination you arrive at — it's a hundred small choices, and some weeks I get them wrong. But I'd rather aim at a life that feels like ours than keep up with one that doesn't.
If you're craving a slower season too, start with one thing. That's all we did.
